GEORGE III LONGCASE CLOCK                                                                 Stock Number: GA1914

George III 8 day mahogany longcase clock by Thomas Ore of Wolverhmpton who worked in Wolverhampton from 1763 to 1779 and then moved to Birmingham.  Flame mahogany case intricately inlaid with various woods,  with swan neck pediment surmounted by urn finials, central finial mounted on carved Prince of Wales feathers. 12in break arch silvered dial with phases of the moon , country scene and naval battle. Substantial five pillar plated movement and rare alarm mechanism.
